I have two of these small sized ones. The first has thicker metal and a higher pitched sound. The other has thinner metal and a lower pitched sound. Before these did not come with wood handles, as per the current photos of one. That photo is not what you Will get. The wood handles are Just bare wood, not protected from the weather and so subject to drying and cracking. I oiled mine with tung oil, A few coats. The tangs of the handles were put in via two different ways. One was centered in the Hole drilled for it. The hole is bigger than the tang, so they pushed in some small wood pieces to provide support and fill the void. The other was pushed up against one side of the hole and glued there, in other words off center, leaving a void on one side of the tang. So, I Stuffed the void with wooden toothpicks, packed them in tight, and covered them with white Wood glue. Worked! Based on this evidence be prepared to do some work on the wood handles: sanding, filling voids in the tang hole, oiling and sealing the wood.
