Product Overview

The Paragon Heartwood West African Cow Skin Drum Head - 22" Round is perfect for replacing African drum heads, including cow skin djembe, dunun, conga, or bugarabu drums. The rounds are cut from full hides of Mali cow skins, fully sun dried and stretched, with hair on. The skins have not been treated with chemicals, leaving the natural oil and strength in the skin. Unless otherwise specified, the skins will be of medium thickness, and cut to approximately 22" diameter rounds.

    I put this on my beautiful malian professional djembe with a 15 inch playing head. The skin was large enough to cover. I was able to pull it and tune. I now have those great cow skin bass notes, tones and slaps. It's a lot of work to tune, but worth it if you're looking for a skin that can handle being pulled very tight. this skin should last for many years.
